I want to talk about one of my project which is related to accessibility. I’ve redesigned Spotify for hearing accessibility person. First of all, I want to mention it, I struggled a lot from research to design. Because it was hard to interview person who has hard of hearing. I post at community and welfare center. But the staff at there doesn’t want me to post there. So I had to interview doctor and read paper instead.
Even now, there is lack of hearing accessibility for music app. Especially “listening” music needs hearing ability and what is possible now is using vibration and light. So they can feel the bounce, strength or weakness of music using vibration and light. I believe this was not enough so my potential solution for that was show lyrics and music wave. To be honest, I wanted to using vibration (such as bass guitar) but due to lack of (technical) feasibility I wasn’t able to design like that.
Universal design is one of my most interesting area of design. And I want to design (for majority of people) but still think about accessibility.
