Ada and Babbage

Ada Lovelace, a bright minded mathematician who came up with the first computer program before computers were really a thing. Babbage created the first “computer,” a steam powered machine that was a big calculator. His problem was finding a program that would run the machine in a manner that would work how he envisioned. He asked Ada t translate an Italian mathematicians work describing the machine. During this process she wrote her own notes which ended up being three times longer than what the Italian wrote. She wrote more, but also found errors and corrected them. Her genius was not acknowledged as much as it is now, but her contribution laid a foundation of what computer programing was.

Lillian and Frank

Lillian and her husband Frank worked with soldiers to help with soldier to disassemble guns, they worked on the usability and efficiency f how the soldiers worked in the dark. While many think it was Frank leading them, Lillian was a pioneer for interactive design and how we interact with things. She watched how housewives worked in their kitchen and is responsible for how the kitchen is design to be most efficient. She is the first lady of engineering. Her contributions are many. There was a movie created, Cheaper by the dozen, which is based off of Frank and Lillian because they had 10 children. In the movie Lillian is made out to be less important and less significant than she truly was.
