comparing Interfaces in the xerox star (1982) to present

c

Looking at the very first interfaces of a computer from Xerox star, we can see a lot of simulation and the same pattern of the layout. First, the layout of the desktop is almost the same as what we have now, with folders stacked one after another as the default arrangement. The icon for the folder and the text file is very similar to what we’ve been using till nowadays, the only difference for the icon will be the placement of the file’s name, the format we use is putting the name below the file icon so we can see the word more clearly than put it right on the icon. Now the differences, one obvious difference just from looking at it is how to show the devices that this specific computer is connected with, on window 10 we can find the devices on the left-hand side of the file explorer, and in Xerox Star, it will show on the desktop; I’ll say the reason behind this is because it is very different from what we think the computer can do and how will most of the people use the computer, nowadays the computer is not only made for working and printing stuff or connecting with other advice is not the major thing we want from the computer when we using it anymore.
