Multi-Discipline Mid-Century Designers

I think mid-Century designers are very different from current designers, because there are many, many convenient and practical designs in modern times, and most of today’s designers focus more on innovative designs and aesthetics. But mid-century designers not only wanted to design appearance and beauty, they considered more about how to make users comfortable and convenient to use. The design era is known today as mid-century modern is popular for its accessibility and affordability. Mid-century furniture designs tend to be both beautiful and simple and functional. The work of many famous mid-century designers was designed for mass-market consumption. The concept is best summed up by the most famous designers of the mid-century, Charles and Ray Eames, who describe their own ideology: “The best thing for the most for the least money”.
Many designs in the mid-century are designed to fit the user’s application and will focus on choosing some lighter or more conventional materials, so mid-century designers not only need to know how to design, but they also need a lot of research and will involve In many other fields, the thinking of these designers is very broad, and their designs cannot be said to be only one aspect of the design. From their broad thinking, we can learn that to design a product that interacts with people, we must not only study its appearance but also pay attention to its comfort, representative content, and some links to technology.
In modern times, these are also needed in many designs, just like UX design we have learned, UX design is not only about designing web pages and software pages, but also needs to use code, or some user experience, interviews, etc. UX design also involves a lot of graphic design, so I think there are a lot of useful ways to learn from mid-century designers that are applicable to learning today.
