Renaissance and movable type

R

In relation to the Renaissance, as Johan Burkhardt describes it, “a self-conscious golden age bursting with culture, art, discovery, and vying with the ancients for the title of Europe’s most glorious age.” The Renaissance saw some great artists, along with other scientists, politicians, etc., allowed Europe to open up new cultures and histories. It also lays the foundation for the development of modern art and culture. Interaction design is one of the representatives of modern art. Therefore, as an interaction designer, you should understand the great history of the Renaissance.(https://www.ducksters.com/history/renaissance_science.php

The most important invention of the Renaissance was the printing press. It was invented around 1440 by the German Johannes Gutenberg. Before the advent of printers, all books and articles were handwritten and had to be copied manually for mass production. It took a long time, so the books at that time were very expensive, and many ordinary people could not read and learn, which also led them to hear some ideas from others instead of actually learning and thinking by themselves. And all this changed with the movable type of the Renaissance.

The printing press helped disseminate new scientific discoveries, enabling scientists to share their work and learn from each other. Printing technology also allowed more people to read and learn, allowing them to have their own ideas, and at the same time, the European economy at that time had a great development. So I think as an interaction designer, it is necessary to understand the Renaissance and movable types.
