Xerox Star is known for the new approach they took with graphical user interface to improve user experience over computer screen. One of the famous improvement done by Xerox Star is to include the concept of mouse(arrow), desktop, window, and icon. By moving onto graphical(visual base) interfaces so-called desktop metaphor from command line interfaces, users were able to recognize kinds of interface directly and complete their computational tasks quickly, which is very user-friendly. Xerox Star also achieved globalization of computing by enabling multi language setting using special algorithms and 16-bit character set.
Just like what we do everyday as student, the concept of creating documents on computer was originated from Xerox Star, which I agree that it increased work efficiency in many fields.
