This week’s reading was pretty interesting and new to me because I have never heard about this concept before. I found it a bit complicated to understand but after reading more about it, I have started understanding the concept in a much better way.
In the context of Pace Layers and interaction design, adopting a user-centered approach is paramount. This approach involves understanding the pace at which user behavior evolves, allowing designers to make informed decisions. User-centered design prioritizes the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the end users, ensuring that digital products and interfaces are intuitive, enjoyable, and effective. As Pace Layers highlight, user behavior evolves more gradually than fast-paced technological advancements.
For example, when I was doing a project in behaviors class we focused on how with time the behavior is changing. But after reading about the pace layers I understood that there are many different stages within that behavior which is changing over time.
