In my opinion, the move from web design to UX design seems to be a natural progression in response to the ever-evolving digital environment. Early design efforts focused on aesthetics and functionality within the constraints of desktop and web-based interfaces. However, as technology advances, especially with the emergence of mobile and cross-platform capabilities, there is a clear shift. Designers must adapt, moving from creating visually appealing websites to making interfaces that are intuitive and responsive to user behavior across various devices and environments because design affects not only how a product looks but also how it is experienced. This shift has been further facilitated by developing comprehensive design systems such as Google’s Material Design, which emphasizes the importance of a cohesive user experience. Websites are not just repositories of information but platforms for interaction, and every aspect of a website should be carefully designed to facilitate and enrich user interaction with it, resulting in a holistic and empathetic approach that defines user experience design today.
