Frame 1

According to the news article Don’t Be Afraid of the iPhone’s NameDrop Feature, Experts Say by The New York Times, the NameDrop is “a new feature that allows iPhone users to wirelessly exchange contact information by placing their phones close together.”

After creating the Futures Wheel of NameDrop, I realized that there could be both negative and positive impact to the world. The first thing I considered was the cyber security. If all the important information such as name, email, and phone number could be exchanged so easily, we can expect unintentional information leaking. Then system and companies that try to protect people’s information, and eventually the government takes action about this by making rules and stronger security system.

I also think that this new feature can make it quicker and paperless to introduce each other professionally, which results in increasing career opportunity, and eventually will create the intense career competition, while it allows people to connect diversely and even between business to business, where it can help world become cross-culturally innovative and economically beneficial.

This feature is definitely convenience for making it simpler to make connections, so we can expect to see it become everyone’s habit just like how social media became our everyday tool. We should also consider about it becoming addictive tool.
