Compare Work Community to Slack
The idea of Work Community is to create positive experiences during work. Since people spend more time in the office than at home, It is very necessary to have workplace function as communities: where it provides opportunities so people are able to exercise, socialize,or relax during breaks. The messaging app Slack can be considered as a modern work community. Similarly, online workspace is easier to access, there’s no longer physical limitations. You have access to your coworkers no matter where you are in the world.
Small Public Squares
I went to Chicago, US and Aix-en-Provence, France and I see two totally different styles between the two public squares in those cities. The public square in Chicago has a huge empty space with two huge led screens facing each other. It is so huge that when people walk by you can barely notice them. One day I walked past, the grey-ish empty square looked so dead under the rain. The public square in Aix, France feels totally different, it is so alive. Someone plays his violin; a few grandma gathering together selling dusty look vintage tableware; small crowds of tourists; etc. It’s a rather smaller square than the one in Chicago, full of shops and restaurants. I fell in love with that city. That little square is an epitome of France. By stepping into the square, I join their life.
I love that you compare patterns to places you’ve travelled to! It feels very personal, and makes me miss travelling ?
