With the invention of movable type we were able to advanced towards a culture where reading could be something more people could partake in which lead to societies eventually educating people other than just nobles and clergy. With more educated people learning to read and write more ideas were forming from more people and history was able to rapidly change. The inventions and machinery that came out of the Renaissance from Da Vinci are these amazing tools that have been able to be developed and reiterated across centuries of time. I believe the importance of these ideas comes from what followed afterward. We can think of anything we do now whether it’s inventing something totally new or finding ways to make old things better, our influence as interaction designers will follow through the course of human history. What kind of world do we want to have with the work we might end up doing? I don’t want to sound like Adam Neumann and I don’t mean we will change the world in the way he believes it, but I do believe that whatever we are able to do is because of the interaction designers from these times and we are now the Da Vinci and movable type of our own time.

Interesting thoughts about how our discipline might be perceived in the future.
Finding ways to make old things better is a good supporting point.
