Three years ago, after 1 year of my Industrial Design program, I made a decision that changes my life, adding interaction design as my second major. A lot of people around me thought I was crazy. My ID chair refused to sign on my application for he didn’t believe that I could finish two majors in 5 years. What happened to me is clear and foreseeable. Much less sleep, much less time for fun, and much less hair. Why I still love to learn ID and IxD? For I know that if I want to design something meaningful, ID is not enough. Design solutions such as digital apps can be only achieved by IxD.
Now I am able to seek inspiration from different fields and enjoy exploring the design system. My prototyping skill, which I invested a lot of effort in it, helps me produce high-fidelity physical models and cross-platform digital products.
“Meaningful” is my personal goal to achieve every time I design. I am passionate about improving user experience in the digital world and practical environment. Nevertheless, I faithfully care about philanthropic activities and facilities that improve the life quality of people with physical disabilities. When I see smiling faces from my users, I so enjoy that moment because that is the time I know that all of my time, work, and love are worthy.
It’s good to identify what is meaningful to you. Keep working on those things that make sense to you. Use your knowledge in both areas to establish your mind.
I love how you care about user accessibility and create more meaningful design. It’s very touching.
