Manifesto of the Design Ethics – Amanda Liu

  1. We design artifacts that shape human behaviors in a positive way.
  2. We never ignore the minority to satisfy the majority.
  3. We make sure our designs not only carry good intentions but also yield good consequences.
  4. We are consciously aware of the things happening in the world.
  5. We understand that what we design is not neutral.
  6. We examine the definition of “good” design constantly.
  7. We don’t sacrifice morality for productivity or profit.
  8. We are open to judgment.

  1. Agreeing with Erin – make it a unique and personal statement to your own, as you are only representing yourself at this stage of the career, but great concise and powerful callouts!

  2. I think this would be stronger if it was more personal in the use of “I” versus the use of “we”. Who is We? This is supposed to be your Manifesto.
