My thinking of technologies in the future

If the purpose of technology evolution is to help people to live a better and more convenient life, the new technology-related exploration and experiments are worth conducting. However, if the purpose of using new technologies is to create barriers, segregation, and divergence between people, it is worthless to keep researching and developing the future generation of technology. In the Black Mirror clip, that scenario gives a good example of how technology creates a divergence between different groups – the higher ratings and the lower ratings. In that scenario, although the idea of the augmented retina is creative, even feasible, and helping the human civilization to evolve in advance, the potential consequences of the technology implementation are actually causing retrogression, in a different way. That is definitely how I would like to live.

Current tech and interaction require both the development of sensors and research of brain science and the right mindset to evolve to the next generation of technology as shown in the clips. The augmented retina that can connect with smartphones, and the sharing experience in their mind both need lots of research and experiments with the human brain and neuron networks. I personally think that the research on brain and neuron networks is worthy because it also can be helpful to the medical field, and it is essential to the study of human consciousness. In addition, we are not closed enough to the scenarios shown in the clips, because of the points I address previously – humans need further research, experiments, and feasible concepts for the next stage of technology evolution.

If we get to the point shown in these sci-fi shows, the data from every aspect of our lives will be capable of collecting, analyzing, and sending to the server. For example, a sensor in the stomach and digestive system will allow people to see what part of nutrition is lacking in a person’s body. In this case, the data for consumed food will be collective. For another example, the memory of people can be uploaded and even duplicated if there is a sensor in the brain. That will allow humans to transfer consciousness from one body to another, which is one way to achieve immortality.

  1. Wow, a sensor in the stomach! I like this idea. It’s true that if technology and data can help medical treatment and fix issues.
