The Black Mirror clip shows a pathetic view of the future. Everyone is rated by a score and that score will indicate whether or not this person is qualified for some higher level priorities or services. The eye lens screen technology will not become true if we don’t know how to minimize batteries into a sand size. And I also think that this will not become true if there isn’t a huge security crisis that makes everyone have to be aware of each other in the future. This system may seem to be very safe for people and is very effective in keeping potentially dangerous or bad people away from us, but there are always ways to go around or trick this system which means that this system is granting more rights and power to those who are evil and also smart. In my opinion this system has harmed everyone’s relationships and it has zero benefit to society. The designers of this system underestimate what the bad people can do with it. Just try to imagine what the school bullies, drug dealers, gangsters, and terrorists can do with this system to get the things they don’t want out of their ways.
The amount of data that we uploaded to servers is still far not enough to make our reality close to FEED and Alter Carbon, but it is close enough to make reality like Black Mirror. But recently, Elon Musk and his team have developed chips that can detect brain emotions. And if that technology can be more refined and become mass produced, then that will make our reality closer to the FEED and Alter Carbons’.
Love your clear analysis, Information transparency brings both good and bad things for our life. Thank you for your sharing!
Very interesting! I agree with you the idea that the amount of data that we uploaded to servers is still far not enough to make our reality close to FEED and Alter Carbon.
It is pointless to keep developing and researching new technologies if the goal is to make our future pathetic
I agree the Black Mirror episode shows some sort of bullying/discrimination by how everyone rates you. As for the contact lense technology, they are currently working on this and have been for about five years now. Here’s the article https://www.wired.com/story/mojo-vision-smart-contact-lens/
