Interaction design is a relatively young design area compared to other design majors. At the same time, with the rapid development of technology, it is difficult to predict what interactive design will look like in the future. Maybe no one even knows whether the website will exist in 10 years or it will be replaced by other technologies. But no matter what kind of new things appear, as long as the design still exists, the people-oriented design concept will never change. Just like Dreyfuss’s idea, the design is still to solve humans’ problems and satisfy humans’ needs.
In addition, maintaining as a broad thinker is also important for future interaction design. New technologies and even new media or devices may appear in the future. How to quickly understand, adapt, and even grasp them is also important for interaction designers. Therefore, as interaction designers, in the future, we need to absorb the experience of the predecessors and maintain a broad vision to learn new things at the same time.
Thanks for sharing! It’s interesting to know how you think about interaction design.
It’s really interesting that you considered the potential absence of a medium (the Web) that is so prevelant today, I found that to be really thought-provoking and on the mark to express the importance of “expansive thinking” in design.
I like your content about technology and the future. Yes, ten years ago we could not imagine that technology would develop into what it is today. But that’s right, humans will always have needs, and interaction designers need to solve problems for humans. This is great!
