In my view, a designer should act as an intermediate person between the people and the products or works rather than a server. In other words, designers need to explore relationships and connections between humans and other subjects. As such, designers will not be limited and restricted by existing frames in particular subject fields. Bill Moggridge, a British designer who is hard to pin down into one discipline was quoted as saying, “If there is a simple, easy principle that binds everything I have done together, It is my interest in people and their relationship to things.” I learn that as designers we can take humans as a starting point, and take users as a connecting point. The principle not only can be applied into multiple fields, but also still be used in modern design. As an interaction designer, I put strength on interactions and connections between the people and the products so that I can think broadly and expansively.
