As an interaction designer, recognition of professional field is of course important. However, I think having broad thinking ability is a thing that can improve professional ability. In the process of our design, we will constantly involve new knowledge from peers. It’s like asking, “What’s this?” in the process of communication. We Googled something we didn’t know in the course of our research. These are our processes involving new knowledge. New knowledge will expand our thinking ability. Strong thinking ability and knowledge field laid the foundation for broad thinking. Therefore, in the future design process, we can think more carefully and comprehensively. People who don’t have broad thinking tend to think only about certain aspects of problems and things. This is a serious problem for designers, because designers design for the convenience of human life. If the problem is not comprehensive enough, it will lead to the design of things that can not fully help humans. Therefore, in order to improve our design ability, we have to become a broad thinker.
