Dreyfuss, Eames, Gustner, and Sutner all had different views but were impactful to the field of design. Each one of them wanted to create a finished product that put the user first. After reading and watching videos about their design philosophies and practices, I can take away that each one of them reiterated and made many drafts of their concepts before the final one.
Concepts of theirs that is still relevant today is designing for the leisure and simplicity of the user. Dreyfuss was a key figure in interaction design. He believed in products for the people. As an interaction designer, my goal is to make websites and apps that don’t confuse my user. I want to make sure they have the simplest time solving their issue and also give them a clear direction.
For me to become a broad thinker like these previous designers, I would need partners and teammates who can point out my flaws and weaknesses. With a team, we will be able to solve bigger issues and also fill in our mistakes.
