I think Ada Lovelace and Lillian Gilbreth are really important in interaction design history because their ideas helped us how to use technology today. Lovelace realized that computers could do more than just math—they could work with symbols and patterns, which is basically how programming works now. Even though computers didn’t exist in her time, her ideas were way ahead, and I think that’s really impressive.
Lillian Gilbreth focused more on how people move and interact with things, and she worked to make everyday tasks easier. She studied how small changes in design could make work more efficient, which is something we still think about in interaction design today. I think both of them showed how technology should be made to work better for people, not the other way around. Their ideas still influence how we design things to be more useful and user-friendly.
